About Is Maricopa a safe place to live

Is Maricopa a safe place to live?
My wife and I are looking to move from Michigan and buy a home in a suburb of Phoenix. We know Chandler and Gilbert have the better reputations, but we are curious about Maricopa. We can get a really nice home for the money there (pool even) and it seems to have all you need store-wise now. Is it true with what I read about drugs, gangs, ect there? Does anyone know much about their schools? We both will work in Chandler. Thanks for the help

Maricopa is really far out. I know that they have good prices on homes but so does most of the Phoenix metropolitan area. Frankly I'd rather live in Chandler, Gilbert, or Queen Creek.

Check this out! My friend just called me today to announce that he will close a deal on 3/15/10 with no down on a 2600 sf. house in Buckeye with a pool on a large corner lot. It's 4br-3ba. Built in 2004. His cost is $125,000. It's is good for him because he works at the Palo Verde nuclear power plant on the west side of Phoenix. Buckeye and Goodyear are so much nicer than Maricopa. Check it out. Zips are 85326 and 85338. Look at the real estate sites.

You should be fine in Maricopa. It's far enough out that the crime is not bad. Just to be safe, get a security screen door on your home and have a security system that is monitored. Post the security signs in your yard. When thieves see that, they will pass on to an easier target. Also, keep your gates to the back yard locked. Best of luck and happy moving. Sorry, not familiar with the schools as I live in Goodyear.

Maricopa is okay. Most people out in Maricopa keep some protection in their homes. Police may take a while to respond depending on where you are. I know that Casa Grande high is gang infested, and there are some tweakers in the area. I'd much rather live closer to the city.
